Range Technology refers to the instrumentation, communication and data processing for safe and reliable test and evaluation of air-borne weapon systems. The range instrumentation includes tracking radars, electro-optical tracking system, telemetry systems and flight termination system.

ICORT is unique in the sense that it is single-stop event, which comprehensively addresses the entire range technology and relevant science and engineering disciplines and yet promising proper justice to all disciplines by organising multi-track technical sessions. Added to the uniqueness is the prestigious technical co-sponsorship by IEEE Kolkata Section.

Prospective authors intending to participate in the conference are requested to submit original research paper related to range technologies, such as, but not limited to,

  • Test and evaluation of weapon systems and range systems
  • Advanced systems and technologies for test range applications
  • Electro-optical tracking, challenges and opportunities
  • Radar systems, advancements and applications to test range
  • Range telemetry system for weapon system evaluation
  • Advanced system for on-board applications
  • Real-time software, design and testing for range safety applications
  • Advanced communication systems
  • Smart sensor network and technologies

  • Top 30 papers will be uploaded in IEEE Xplore and will gain high impact factor.
  • Top 10 papers may be exempted from paying registration fees at the discretion of the organisers
  • Selected papers from foreign authors may be permitted for presentation through video conferencing applications, as per the time zone of the conference venue.

Submission Guidelines: Full manuscript

Plagiarism policy
  • ICORT 2019 adheres to anti-plagiarism policy. Authors are requested to keep similarity level of their submitted paper (checked by Turnitin or iThenticate) well below 30%. Any paper, submitted for review, with similarity level exceeding 30%, shall be returned to the respective author for re-submission. The author shall have till the submission deadline to redeem the paper. Similarity score is taken as the cumulative sum for all documents (inclusive of manuscript and any/all supplementary material) with docLoc or Crosscheck.
Double submission policy
  • In submitting a manuscript to ICORT 2019, authors acknowledge that no paper substantially similar in content has been or will be submitted to another journal, conference, or other event with published proceedings. In such a case, the submission will be rejected without review.
Conflict of interest
  • The author should mention their affiliation (present or past) in the field of conflict of interest.
Full manuscript preparation guidelines
  • On acceptance of the Extended Abstract, authors shall proceed for full paper submission within the stipulated date
  • Author names and details/affiliations may now be placed in the full manuscript. Manuscripts without author names and details/affiliations will not be acceptable
  • The order of author names and details/affiliations in the submitted full manuscript must correspond to that in EDAS
  • Do not use titles like (Prof., Dr., Mr., Ms, Mrs. etc..) before the author/co-author names in the full manuscript
  • Full manuscript submission is restricted to a minimum of 3 pages and a maximum of 5 pages
  • The full manuscript must follow standard IEEE format, with US letter (8.5 X 11 inch) size paper
  • The manuscript templates are available at
  • The full manuscript must be submitted in the EDAS portal
  • Full manuscript must be IEEE Xplore compatible. Please follow the Steps to generate IEEE Xplore compliant manuscript.
  • The abstract of the accepted Extended Abstract must be placed verbatim in the full manuscript. Please ensure that the EDAS abstract is same as in full manuscript as well. The same is applicable for the title of the full manuscript
  • Full manuscript must incorporate and address all the reviewers comments
  • Please do not use any Header, Footer, Page number, in the full manuscript
  • Any queries/issues may please be  addressed via
Steps to generate IEEE Xplore compatible full manuscript
  • All full papers submitted for ICORT publication must meet the IEEE standards. Access to PDF eXpress site (, the IEEE’s online file conversion/PDF validation tool, will help authors in preparing suitable electronic (pdf) files of their final papers. PDF eXpress helps authors convert their papers into IEEE Xplore-compatible PDF files (conversion function) or to check their own PDF files for IEEE Xplore compatibility (PDF validation function).
  • First-time users should do the following:

Best Presentation and Poster Award

ICORT 2019 announces Best Oral Presentation and Best Poster Presentation competition with awards for each of the 18 Oral and 5 Poster Sessions. All accepted papers of all Oral and Poster sessions are eligible to compete.

Best Oral Presentation

Presenters for oral sessions have 10 mins to describe their papers followed by discussions for 5 mins.

Oral presentations will be evaluated by the respective Session Chairs for the Best Oral Presentation award.

Best Poster Presentation

Poster sessions (ppt/pdf/video) will last 20 mins each with 55 inch LED displays provided to showcase their work. A team of Jury will evaluate the posters for the Best Poster Presentation for each of the poster sessions. The Jury members will be available at the venue as per the following schedule,

  • Poster01 : 1100-1200 hrs on 16 Feb 2019
  • Poster02 : 1530-1630 hrs on 16 Feb 2019
  • Poster03 : 1700-1800 hrs on 16 Feb 2019
  • Poster04 : 0930-1030 hrs on 17 Feb 2019
  • Poster05 : 1100-1200 hrs on 17 Feb 2019

However, each poster session remains as scheduled.

It is a gentle reminder to the authors/presenters to upload the presentations on EDAS under “presentation & copyright” on the dashboard of your paper for ease of access at the venue. This will also help avoid security related hassles. It is anticipated that each of the papers has at least one complete registration and is accompanied by the ICORT 2019 copyright.

ICORT 2019 welcomes you again for the conference on 15th to17th February 2019.
